ABOUT THIS WINE
Luccarelli is a key brand under the renowned Fantini Group (formerly Farnese Vini), crafted at the Terre di Sava facility in Puglia, Southern Italy. The grapes are sourced from the Alto Salento Peninsula, near Taranto, Sava, and Manduria. This wine tells a fascinating story of deliberate declassification: although grown within the prestigious Primitivo di Manduria DOC zone, the grapes are harvested slightly early to preserve natural acidity and freshness. This keeps the alcohol level just below the DOC minimum, resulting in an incredibly high-value Puglia IGP wine that offers premium terroir in an approachable, vibrant style.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process begins with the hand-harvesting of Primitivo grapes in late August to capture their early-ripening freshness. After destemming and soft crushing, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 8 to 10 days, accompanied by regular pumping overs to extract color and soft tannins. Malolactic fermentation is completed entirely in stainless steel. Finally, the wine is aged for 4 to 5 months in used French and American oak barriques, adding subtle complexity and structural integration without overpowering the primary fruit.
