Progetto Calcarius Nù Litr Rosso

Progetto Calcarius is a collaboration founded by natural winemaker Valentina Passalacqua in the northern Puglian region of Apricena, within the Gargano National Park. The project's name and distinctive labels pay homage to the unique terroir of her vineyards, which are characterized by highly calcareous, white Kimmeridgian limestone soils. The chemical symbol 'Ca', the atomic number '20', and the atomic weight '40.08' featured on the label all represent Calcium, highlighting the mineral-rich foundation of the estate. Passalacqua, who left a career in law in 2010 to return to her family's agricultural roots, has established her estate as a beacon of biodynamic farming and ethical labor practices in southern Italy.
