ABOUT THIS WINE
Champagne J.M. Labruyère's Prologue Grand Cru Extra Brut is the inaugural offering from a family with a long-standing winemaking tradition, extending from Burgundy and Bordeaux to the Champagne region. This cuvée is crafted from Grand Cru vineyards located in Verzenay, Verzy, and Mailly on the Montagne de Reims, known for their chalky clay-limestone soils. The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with the base wine often originating from recent harvests and complemented by reserve wines. The producer's philosophy emphasizes terroir expression and extended aging.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Champagne J.M. Labruyère Prologue is produced using the traditional method (Méthode Champenoise), involving a secondary fermentation in the bottle. A portion of the base wine undergoes fermentation in oak barrels, adding a layer of complexity. The wine is then aged on its lees for an extended period, typically four years or more, before disgorgement. The dosage is kept very low, classifying it as Extra Brut, to highlight the purity of the fruit and the terroir.
