ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Michel Prunier et Fille's Auxey-Duresses Rouge is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Burgundy region. The Prunier family has been making wine for five generations, with Michel Prunier and his daughter Estelle now leading the estate. They emphasize expressing the unique terroir and vintage through sustainable farming. The Auxey-Duresses appellation, situated in the Côte de Beaune, is known for its limestone soils that contribute to the wine's character. The 2021 vintage was affected by spring frost, resulting in wines with notable freshness and juiciness.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Prunier Auxey-Duresses Rouge begins with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, initiated at 18°C using ambient yeasts. Following this initial stage, fermentation continues in oak barrels. The red wines undergo extended macerations to extract color and flavor. Aging takes place over 15 to 18 months in oak barrels, with a proportion of new oak used. The estate employs sustainable viticulture and 'lutte raisonnée' farming practices.
