ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas Puente del Ea was founded in 2001 in the high-altitude village of Sajazarra, Rioja Alta, by a group of friends seeking authentic terroir expression. The estate's vineyards sit at 520 meters elevation, shielded by the majestic Obarenes Mountains, which inspire the wine's name, 'Obar.' Under the guidance of renowned French enologist Julien Viaud and resident winemaker Ana Gonzalo, the winery crafts limited-production, terroir-driven wines. The label features a partridge, a bird native to the local wild fauna of Sajazarra.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Hand-harvested in small 15 kg crates, the 100% Viura grapes undergo strict selection. Fermentation takes place with wild and selected yeasts in 225-liter French oak barrels. The wine is aged on its fine lees for 6 months with daily pumping over and batonnage to build texture, volume, and complexity. Following barrel aging, the wine undergoes an additional 6 months of bottle aging before release. Annual production is highly limited to approximately 4,500 bottles.
