ABOUT THIS WINE
Niepoort Redoma Branco 2020 is a white wine from Portugal's Douro DOC, produced by Niepoort Vinhos. It is a blend of indigenous Portuguese white grape varieties, including Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Viosinho, Donzelinho, and Gouveio, sourced from old vines situated at altitudes between 400 to 600 meters on mica-schist soils. The winery, Niepoort Vinhos, is a historic, independent family business founded in 1842, now in its fifth generation. The family has a long tradition in Port wine but has also become a pioneer in producing high-quality dry wines from the Douro Valley, with a focus on terroir-driven wines. The Redoma Branco is distinguished by its elegance, structure, and minerality, with its complex bouquet and palate often drawing comparisons to Premier Cru Chablis.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Niepoort Redoma Branco 2020 is produced from meticulously sorted and gently pressed grapes. Alcoholic fermentation is initiated spontaneously with native yeasts in French oak barrels of various sizes (228L and 500L). Partial malolactic fermentation is also employed in some instances. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes an aging period of 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels. The Reserva cuvée is specifically selected from the finest barrels.
