ABOUT THIS WINE
Niepoort Redoma Tinto is an emblematic red wine from Portugal's Douro Valley, first introduced in 1991. Produced by Niepoort Vinhos, a family business established in 1842, the wine is a reflection of the Douro's demanding climate and its unique schist soils. It is considered a key representative of the region's winemaking tradition, showcasing the character derived from old vines. The grapes are sourced from the Cima Corgo sub-region, from vineyards that contribute to the wine's distinctive profile.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Redoma Tinto involves fermenting 100% whole grape bunches in stainless steel lagares, employing mechanized stomping for a brief maceration. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes maturation for around 22 months in old wooden barrels. Harvest timing is managed to preserve freshness and acidity. The producer, Niepoort Vinhos, is committed to biodynamic practices and vineyard biodiversity.
