ABOUT THIS WINE
The Regaleali Nero D'Avola Sicilia DOC 2022 is a significant expression from Tasca d'Almerita, a winery with an eight-generation history dating back to 1830. This wine is a testament to their dedication to Nero d'Avola, a grape indigenous to Sicily. The Regaleali estate, from which the wine takes its name, is characterized by its diverse soils and altitudes, ranging from 400 to 900 meters, creating a unique microclimate. The name 'Regaleali' itself has Arabic origins, meaning 'the farmhouse of Alì'. This particular bottling is one of the estate's earliest productions, marking a long-standing tradition with Nero d'Avola, with the producer having crafted this varietal for 66 vintages. Tasca d'Almerita's winemaking philosophy emphasizes respecting nature and sustainable practices, aiming to preserve the land for future generations.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Regaleali Nero D'Avola Sicilia DOC 2022 is produced from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at temperatures ranging from 26-28°C, with maceration lasting an average of 10 days. Malolactic fermentation is fully completed. The aging process involves a split approach: 50% of the wine matures in steel tanks, while the remaining 50% is aged for 10 months in 300- and 600-liter Slavonian oak barrels. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 400 and 900 meters above sea level, with harvest timing determined by careful monitoring of grape maturation to ensure balance and elegance. Tasca d'Almerita emphasizes sustainable viticulture and low environmental impact in their farming practices.
