ABOUT THIS WINE
The Justin Dutraive Régnié 'Les Bulliats' 2023 marks the debut of this cuvée from a producer deeply rooted in Beaujolais winemaking tradition. Justin Dutraive, following in the footsteps of his father Jean-Louis Dutraive, champions organic viticulture and minimal intervention. This wine hails from the Régnié cru, specifically from the 'Les Bulliats' parcel characterized by its granite-rich soils at a higher altitude. The vineyard, with vines planted in 1960, contributes to the wine's structure and freshness. Dutraive's approach emphasizes allowing the Gamay grape and the specific terroir to express themselves with clarity and precision.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Justin Dutraive Régnié 'Les Bulliats' 2023 begins with organic viticulture and hand-harvested grapes, which are then chilled overnight. The winemaking process employs semi-carbonic maceration for approximately 20 days, utilizing native yeasts for fermentation in stainless steel vats and unique rolling fiberglass tanks. Following maceration, the wine is aged in neutral vessels, including old oak barrels, to maintain its purity and terroir expression. This approach prioritizes minimal intervention to allow the characteristics of the Gamay grape and the Régnié terroir to be clearly conveyed.
