ABOUT THIS WINE
Rémi Leroy Extra Brut is a non-vintage sparkling wine from the Champagne AOC, primarily produced in the Côte des Bar region. The estate, managed by Rémi Leroy, focuses on expressing the unique terroir through organic viticulture and meticulous winemaking. The wine's identity is deeply rooted in the Kimmeridgian limestone soils of the Aube, with a blend dominated by Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay and a touch of Pinot Meunier. This approach aims to create Champagnes that are a pure reflection of their origin, embodying the philosophy of 'the soil and the winegrower'.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Rémi Leroy Extra Brut is produced using grapes from organically farmed vineyards. Fermentation occurs in a combination of stainless steel tanks and used Burgundy oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation also employed. The wine is aged on its lees for an extended period, typically 18-20 months or more, with some aging in oak. A portion of reserve wines, drawn from a solera system initiated in 2009, is incorporated into the blend. The final dosage is Extra Brut, indicating a very low residual sugar content.
