ABOUT THIS WINE
Finca Las Moras Reserve Chardonnay is a white wine from the San Juan region of Argentina. The producer, Finca Las Moras, is known for its pioneering approach to winemaking in San Juan, emphasizing sustainability and the unique characteristics of the region's terroir. The estate's name, 'The Blackberry Estate,' is inspired by the surrounding flora. The vineyards are located at high altitudes, benefiting from the arid climate and gravelly soils of San Juan, which contribute to the wine's concentrated fruit profile and balanced acidity. The winery is part of Grupo Peñaflor and was established in the late 1990s with a philosophy centered on the harmonious relationship between nature and human endeavor.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Finca Las Moras Reserve Chardonnay involves manual harvesting of the grapes. Fermentation takes place at approximately 10°C, with a significant portion of the wine undergoing fermentation in French and American oak barrels, while the remainder ferments in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is employed. Following fermentation, the wine is aged on its lees for nine months. Oak aging, typically in French and American oak, is also a key component of the aging process, contributing to the wine's complexity. The producer emphasizes sustainable and responsible viticultural and winemaking practices.
