ABOUT THIS WINE
Founded in 1972, Bodegas LAN is named after the initials of the three provinces that define the Rioja DOCa: Logroño, Álava, and Navarra. Located in the heart of Rioja Alta, the winery has built a reputation for combining deep-rooted Rioja traditions with modern winemaking innovations. LAN is highly regarded for its long-standing relationships with local grape growers, paying premium rates to secure the finest fruit from select parcels across Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The 2022 vintage represents a triumph over an exceptionally hot and dry growing season, where careful canopy management and cooling maritime winds late in the season preserved the freshness and balance of the grapes.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for the 2022 Crianza were destemmed and lightly crushed before undergoing fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maceration on the skins lasted between 14 and 15 days, with daily pump-overs to optimize color extraction and polyphenol balance. A signature of Bodegas LAN is their pioneering use of custom-made hybrid barrels. The wine was aged for 12 to 15 months in these unique casks, which feature American oak staves and French oak heads, blending the characteristics of both wood types. Following barrel aging, the wine spent an additional 8 to 9 months maturing in the bottle before release.
