ABOUT THIS WINE
Robin by Réka Koncz is a 2022 natural sparkling wine from Hungary, notable for being one of the few commercial bottlings from the Barabás region, revived by winemaker Annamária Réka Koncz. This Pétillant Naturel is a unique blend of 50% Királyleányka from Koncz's own old vines in Barabás and 50% Furmint from the renowned Mád village in Tokaj. The grapes are cultivated using organic and regenerative farming practices. The wine's distinctive character comes from its minimal intervention winemaking and the distinct volcanic terroirs of its origins. Réka Koncz's philosophy centers on expressing the pure essence of the grape and the land, making Robin a testament to her dedication to reviving Hungary's winemaking heritage.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Robin is crafted using the ancestral method (Pét-Nat), where fermentation completes in the bottle to create natural carbonation. The Királyleányka is fermented without skin contact, while the Furmint undergoes 4-5 days of skin maceration before pressing, imparting color and texture. The two grape varieties are blended shortly after the Furmint's fermentation. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts, is unfined, and unfiltered. All bottles are meticulously hand-disgorged in November/December 2023, and no sulfur dioxide is added during the entire process. This approach highlights Réka Koncz's commitment to natural winemaking and minimal intervention.
