The vineyard's soil composition, featuring marine deposits and fossils, contributes to the wine's distinct character. Ricasoli is one of Italy's oldest wine estates, with a history stretching back to 1141, and is known for its commitment to scientific vineyard mapping and clonal selection.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Roncicone 2019 is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand on September 27, 2019. Fermentation takes place at 24-27°C with daily punch-downs for 14-16 days. The wine then undergoes aging for 22 months in 500-liter tonneaux, with 30% new oak and 70% second passage. The vineyard was planted between 1998-2000 at an elevation of 320 meters with a south-east exposure.
