WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Biondi-Santi Rosso di Montalcino 2020 is produced using traditional red wine vinification methods. Grapes are fermented in cement vats at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels. The grapes are sourced from the estate's younger vineyards, which benefit from the same terroir as the Brunello vineyards, characterized by clay and limestone soils. The 2020 vintage experienced a mild winter, a cool spring with temperature fluctuations, a rainy June, and warm, dry summer months with good diurnal variation, leading to a harvest that began on September 9th.
