ABOUT THIS WINE
The Conti Costanti Rosso di Montalcino 'Vermiglio' DOC 2017 is a 100% Sangiovese from Montalcino, Tuscany. The 'Vermiglio' name, an ancient term for a bright red hue, was revived by Andrea Costanti to denote a Rosso di Montalcino with extended aging, positioning it between a standard Rosso and Brunello. The grapes are cultivated on Conti Costanti's estate, which lies within the renowned Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The Conti Costanti family boasts a winemaking heritage dating back to the 15th century, with Andrea Costanti continuing this legacy by focusing on wines that express terroir with elegance and complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Conti Costanti Rosso di Montalcino 'Vermiglio' DOC 2017 is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts. The wine is then aged for twelve months in French tonneaux, followed by twelve months in Slavonian oak barrels. A further year of aging in bottle precedes its release. The vineyards are situated at elevations between 310 and 440 meters, with a southwestern exposure and galestro soil. Farming practices emphasize sustainability and respect for biodiversity.
