ABOUT THIS WINE
The De Angelis Rosso Piceno 2017 is a red wine from the Rosso Piceno DOC appellation in the Marche region of Italy. It is a blend primarily of Montepulciano (70%) with Sangiovese (30%). The Tenuta de Angelis winery, established by the family in the 1950s, is committed to organic production and highlighting the potential of native grape varietals. Their philosophy centers on offering high-quality wines at an accessible price point, aiming to produce authentic wines that reflect their territory. The grapes are cultivated on clay-limestone soils at altitudes between 200 and 350 meters. The 2017 vintage, from a warm year, is noted for its acidity and fruit characteristics.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for this Rosso Piceno Superiore begins with hand-harvested grapes that are carefully selected and sorted. Maceration of the skins with the must occurs for 10 to 15 days in stainless-steel tanks at temperatures ranging from 22-26°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in aged oak casks or for 15-18 months in large oak foudres, with occasional use of barriques. A minimum of 6 months of bottle aging completes the process before release.
