ABOUT THIS WINE
The Ruppertsberger Imperial Pinot Noir is a red wine from the Pfalz region of Germany, produced by the Ruppertsberger Weinkeller Hoheburg eG cooperative. This cooperative, established in 1968, comprises 200 growers cultivating 410 hectares of vineyards. The Pfalz region's warm and sunny climate, influenced by the Haardt Mountains, is particularly well-suited for growing Pinot Noir. The 2023 vintage benefited from favorable weather, contributing to optimal grape ripeness and concentration. The wine is recognized for its sustainability certifications, including Fair 'n Green, and is also vegan-friendly. It is available in the fixed assortment in Sweden and the general selection in Finland.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Ruppertsberger Imperial Pinot Noir is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Following harvest, the grapes undergo a 2-week skin fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 2 to 5 months in traditional oak barrels, with a portion also aged in Hungarian 225-liter oak barrels for 2 months. The producer, Ruppertsberger Weinkeller Hoheburg eG, is a cooperative emphasizing quality and sustainability in its winemaking.
