ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Reverdy-Ducroux is located in the historic village of Verdigny within the Sancerre appellation. The Reverdy family's viticultural roots in this region run deep, dating back to 1550 and spanning 14 generations. Today, the estate is managed by the father-and-son team of Alain and Laurent Reverdy. The "Beau Roy" cuvée is sourced from steep, southeast-facing hillside vineyards situated at 240 meters above sea level. The defining feature of this terroir is the "Terres Blanches" soil, composed of Kimmeridgian clay-limestone marls, which imparts a distinct mineral character to the wine. The estate is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), reflecting their commitment to sustainable farming practices, including traditional mechanical soil ploughing instead of chemical herbicides. The 2024 vintage was particularly heroic, marked by a wet and challenging growing season that severely reduced yields but resulted in grapes with exceptional natural acidity and tension.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the "Cuvée Beau Roy" is designed to preserve the pure, unadorned expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape and its unique terroir. After harvesting at optimal maturity, the grapes are completely destemmed and gently pressed using pneumatic presses. The must undergoes rigorous cold settling before fermentation. Laurent Reverdy opts for fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete tanks using neutral yeasts, deliberately avoiding aromatic lab-selected yeasts that might mask the wine's natural profile. Following fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees in concrete tanks for approximately six months to build mid-palate texture. Finally, the wine is filtered and bottled under vacuum with high-quality natural cork to maintain its pristine freshness.
