WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Sauska Tokaji Furmint 2022 is produced from hand-harvested grapes that undergo pre-chilling, destemming, and gentle crushing. A 6-hour skin soak precedes pressing to extract fruit aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeast. The wine is aged for 5 months, with two-thirds in 500-liter French oak barrels (25% new) and one-third in granite eggs and stainless-steel tanks, with regular battonage. Sauska employs experimental techniques and focuses on environmental sustainability, utilizing natural gravity in its winemaking facilities.
