ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut Scheuermann is run by brothers Gabriel and Simon Scheuermann in the Pfalz region of Germany. Taking over their father's estate in 2009 at a very young age, they converted the vineyards to biodynamic farming, achieving Demeter certification. To maintain the highest quality, they sell off most of their grapes, keeping only the best 8 hectares of characterful parcels for their own label. Their philosophy is to make Pfalz wines with a French-influenced, Loire-style structure, focusing on pure terroir expression.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested from selected parcels in the municipal district of Forst, characterized by a dual soil matrix of stony sandstone, loess, and clay-loam. Vinification follows a low-intervention protocol with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. After a short maceration on the skins, the wine is aged on its fine lees for several months in a combination of used 500-liter French oak tonneaux, traditional large oak casks, and stainless steel. It is bottled unfined with minimal sulfur addition.
