ABOUT THIS WINE
Sei Solo is the vision of the late Javier Zaccagnini, a legendary figure in Ribera del Duero who previously served as the President of the region's regulatory board and co-founded Bodegas Aalto. Established in 2007 in La Horra, Burgos, the estate is now managed by his son, Michael Zaccagnini. The winery was born out of a desire to create a red wine that prioritizes nuance, elegance, and tension over heavy extraction. The name and label design pay tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach's violin sonatas, featuring a direct reproduction of Bach's original 1720 manuscript handwriting.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Sei Solo focuses on low-intervention methods to preserve the character of its 60- to 100-year-old bush vines. Grapes are hand-harvested, completely destemmed, and undergo cold pre-fermentative maceration. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in small-capacity stainless steel tanks. Gentle, short pump-overs are utilized to avoid over-extraction. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in two-year-old French oak barrels before aging for 17 to 20 months in large 600-liter French oak barrels, with only 15% new oak. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
