ABOUT THIS WINE
Celler Martí Fabra is located at the historic Masia Carreras estate in Sant Climent Sescebes, with winemaking roots dating back to the 12th century. Revitalized in 1990 by Joan Fabra, the estate is dedicated to preserving ancestral old vines of Carinyena and Garnatxa planted on the barren, acidic slate slopes of Alt Empordà. This rugged terroir, heavily influenced by the fierce, dry Tramuntana wind, shapes wines of immense character, balancing intense Mediterranean warmth with a distinct mineral tension.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for Selecció Vinyes Velles are harvested by hand from vines aged between 40 and 80 years, and transported in small 15 kg boxes to prevent premature crushing. Following destemming, fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel and concrete vats. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak casks and barrels, allowing the firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon and the concentrated old-vine Carinyena and Garnatxa to integrate beautifully.
