ABOUT THIS WINE
Selvarossa Salice Salentino Rosso Riserva DOP is the flagship red wine from Cantine Due Palme, a cooperative founded in 1989 by Angelo Maci, representing over 1,000 winegrowers. The wine originates from the Salento region of Puglia, Italy, a sun-drenched area known for its Mediterranean climate and traditional viticulture. The name 'Selvarossa' translates to 'red forest,' evoking the wine's deep color and character. The primary grape is Negroamaro, meaning 'black and bitter,' complemented by Malvasia Nera. Traditional viticultural practices, such as the Alberello Pugliese bush-training method, are employed in the vineyards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Selvarossa Salice Salentino is produced from late-harvested Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for about nine months in French oak barriques, followed by additional bottle aging before its release. The grapes are sourced from vineyards typically situated around 90 meters above sea level and cultivated using the traditional Alberello Pugliese bush-training method.
