The Shine collection by Budureasca is an innovative cross-border collaboration between the Romanian winery Budureasca, located in the historic Dealu Mare region, and expert sparkling winemakers in Veneto, Italy. The name Shine embodies a youthful, joyful spirit, metaphorically recreating the ancient alliance between the Dacians and the Roman Empire by combining Romanian estate-grown grapes with Italian sparkling winemaking expertise. Under the guidance of acclaimed British winemaker Stephen Donnelly, Budureasca has crafted this modern, approachable sparkling wine to bridge the gap between traditional Romanian varieties and the popular, easy-drinking Prosecco style.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested early in Budureasca's estate vineyards in Dealu Mare to preserve high natural acidity and low sugar levels. The base wine is transported to Italy, where it undergoes secondary fermentation using the Charmat Method (Metodo Martinotti) in pressurized stainless steel autoclaves. This process takes approximately three months, allowing the carbon dioxide to integrate naturally. Following fermentation, the sparkling wine is stabilized at cold temperatures (-2 to -3°C), filtered, and immediately bottled under counter-pressure to preserve its vibrant, youthful fruitiness.
