ABOUT THIS WINE
Sierra Cantabria Selección is a 100% Tempranillo red wine from the D.O.Ca. Rioja, produced by Bodegas Sierra Cantabria. The Eguren family, with a winemaking history dating back to 1870, crafts this wine with a focus on viticultural excellence. Located in Rioja Alavesa, the vineyards are situated at an altitude of 560 meters. The wine's unique character is influenced by the region's microclimate and its calcareous clay soils. The 2019 vintage is noted for its deep ruby hue and layered aromas.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Sierra Cantabria Selección begins with a rigorous double-manual sorting of the 100% destemmed Tempranillo grapes. Fermentation occurs in concrete 'lagares' using indigenous yeasts, followed by a maceration period of 20-30 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in foudre. The wine is then aged for 8 months in 80-year-old 10,000L foudres, or alternatively, 6 months in tank and 6 months in used Bordelaise barrels of American and French oak.
