ABOUT THIS WINE
Silk Blue is a natural red wine from Hughes Beguet-Vignerons in the Jura, France. The wine is a blend primarily of Ploussard, with Trousseau and a touch of Savagnin, reflecting the producer's experimental approach. Patrice Béguet and Caroline Hughes returned to Patrice's native Jura to establish their estate, committed to biodynamic farming and minimal intervention winemaking. The grapes are sourced from the esteemed Côte de Feule vineyard in Pupillin. The name 'Silk Blue' captures the wine's smooth texture and vivid character. The label design is a nod to family heritage, featuring a lithograph from the winemaker's grandfather.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Silk Blue is produced using a 'zero/zero' winemaking philosophy, meaning no additions or subtractions are made throughout the process. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The winemaking involves a combination of techniques, including whole bunch fermentation, carbonic maceration, and extended macerations that can last up to six months. The wine is aged in a mix of old oak barrels, stainless steel, and acacia wood to develop its texture. Finally, it is bottled without fining or filtration and with no added sulfites.
