ABOUT THIS WINE
Quinta da Raza is located in the Basto sub-region of Vinho Verde, Portugal, where the Teixeira Coelho family has been crafting wine since at least 1769. Today, José Diogo and Mafalda represent the modern generation of stewards. This single-vineyard bottling highlights the rare, indigenous Padeiro grape, which was nearly extinct. The estate's unique microclimate, protected by mountains and featuring clay-schist and granite soils, allows this rare variety to thrive and express its distinctive regional character.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested from certified sustainable vineyards. Following a gentle pressing to extract a delicate pink hue, fermentation takes place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at cool temperatures to preserve the fresh fruit character. The wine is aged on its fine lees in stainless steel before early bottling, with no oak contact, ensuring a vibrant and pure expression of the Padeiro grape.
