WINE MAKING PROCESS
Solaia is produced from meticulously selected grapes harvested by hand and double-sorted. Fermentation and maceration occur on the skins in truncated cone-shaped vats, with careful management to balance fruit concentration and tannin refinement using local yeasts. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French barriques, followed by an aging period of approximately 18 months in 100% new French oak barriques. The vineyard is situated on a southwest-facing slope within the Tenuta Tignanello estate, characterized by stony soils composed of alberese and galestro.
