Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc

The Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the WO Walker Bay region of the Western Cape, South Africa. Produced by Southern Right, a winery established in 1994 by Anthony Hamilton Russell, it is situated on a 448-hectare property in the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The wine's identity is rooted in expressing its origin, individuality, minerality, and palate complexity, aiming for a balance of Old World minerality and length with New World texture and body. The vineyards are located a mere two kilometers from the South Atlantic Ocean, with fruit sourced from diverse soils including iron and clay-rich types, as well as sandstone. The 2022 vintage experienced a slightly later start to the growing season. The winery is named after the Southern Right whale, and each bottle contributes to whale conservation efforts.
