The Ahr Valley, known for its steep, south-facing vineyards and slate soils, provides a distinctive terroir for this grape. The 'JS' cuvée is a blend from carefully selected vineyard sites within the region. The 2021 vintage presented unique conditions for the Ahr's vineyards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Jean Stodden Spätburgunder JS 2021 is produced using hand-picked and strictly selected Spätburgunder grapes. Fermentation occurs on the skins for 14 days at controlled temperatures, without stems. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 16 months in barriques, during which biological acid degradation takes place. The producer's approach focuses on minimal intervention to allow the vineyard's characteristics to be expressed.
