ABOUT THIS WINE
Speri Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2022 is a red wine from the Valpolicella Classica region in Veneto, Italy. Produced by the Speri family, who have a winemaking legacy dating back to the early 1800s, this wine utilizes a classic blend of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, all grown on the estate. The wine's distinctiveness comes from the Ripasso method, a second fermentation over the lees of Amarone or Recioto wines, which imparts added complexity and structure. Speri is also recognized for its pioneering commitment to organic viticulture, achieving certification in 2015.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Speri Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2022 is produced using the Ripasso method, which involves a secondary fermentation of the base Valpolicella wine over the lees of Amarone and/or Recioto wines. This technique enhances the wine's structure and flavor profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for about 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. The grapes are sourced exclusively from Speri's estate vineyards, which are managed using organic viticulture practices. Harvest is conducted manually.
