ABOUT THIS WINE
Spetacol Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is a 2022 red still wine from Renato Fenocchio, produced in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Its unique aspect lies in its declassification from Barbaresco DOCG to Langhe DOC, a choice made by the Fenocchio family to grant them greater creative liberty in winemaking. The name 'Spetacol,' meaning 'entertainment' in the local dialect, reflects this spirit of experimentation and enjoyment. The Fenocchio family boasts a long winemaking heritage in the Barbaresco area, dating back to the early 19th century. Renato and Milva Fenocchio founded their current estate in 1993, drawing inspiration and guidance from the esteemed producer Bruno Giacosa. Their winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in organic farming practices and a commitment to expressing the distinctiveness of their vineyard sites. The estate's vineyards are located in the renowned municipalities of Barbaresco, Neive, and Treiso, areas celebrated for their suitability for Nebbiolo cultivation.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Spetacol Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is crafted by Renato Fenocchio using 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention and the preservation of fruit purity. Grapes are sourced from the family's vineyards in Barbaresco, Neive, and Treiso. Vinification begins with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, utilizing native yeasts. Maceration is kept relatively brief, typically lasting 7-8 days, which helps in achieving a balanced extraction and a more approachable wine style. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging exclusively in stainless steel. This choice of aging vessel is deliberate, aimed at preserving the vibrant primary fruit aromas and flavors characteristic of Nebbiolo, without the influence of oak. The wine is bottled unfiltered, a technique that retains more texture and complexity. The estate is committed to organic farming, ensuring that vineyard practices are environmentally conscious and contribute to the health and quality of the grapes.
