ABOUT THIS WINE
Can Sumoi Sumoll 2018 is a red wine from Penedès, Catalonia, crafted by Can Sumoi, the high-altitude, low-intervention project of Pepe Raventós. The wine is a blend of Sumoll, an indigenous and endangered Catalan grape, and Garnatxa. The estate is situated over 600 meters above sea level, benefiting from a cooler microclimate. Can Sumoi follows a philosophy of 'biosynergy,' promoting holistic farming practices, and emphasizes minimal intervention in winemaking.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Can Sumoi Sumoll 2018 is produced from hand-harvested Sumoll and Garnatxa grapes. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months of aging in the same vessels. The winemaking process emphasizes minimal intervention, with no fining, filtration, stabilization, or added oenological products. Sulfur additions are minimal or zero. The estate employs biodynamic and organic farming practices as part of its 'biosynergy' philosophy.
