ABOUT THIS WINE
Two Mountain Winery is an authentic, family-owned estate run by brothers Matthew and Patrick Rawn, who are fourth-generation farmers in Washington's Yakima Valley. The winery's name is inspired by the majestic views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier, which serve as the backdrop to their estate vineyards. In 2000, the family began transitioning their grandfather's 1951-planted orchard land into Copeland Vineyard, which became the first certified sustainable vineyard in Washington State. They expanded their estate in 2020 by acquiring the neighboring historic Portteus Vineyard, creating a contiguous 100-acre block. Today, Matthew serves as the winemaker while Patrick manages vineyard operations, focusing on sustainable viticulture that honors their unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for this Syrah is guided by a minimal-intervention philosophy under winemaker Matthew Rawn. Sourced from the estate's Copeland and Portteus vineyards in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA, the grapes are harvested from elevations of approximately 1,300 feet. Fermentation temperatures are strictly controlled to preserve the bright, natural acidity and fresh aromatic profile of the fruit. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 20 to 22 months in oak barrels, primarily French oak with a small percentage of American oak, of which approximately 30% to 40% is new. The final blend incorporates 7% Grenache to enhance the floral perfume and add a savory, Northern Rhône-style complexity.
