ABOUT THIS WINE
The Tamāhine Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc 2023 from Misty Cove Wines is a single-varietal wine from Marlborough, New Zealand. Its name is inspired by the first ferry to connect New Zealand's North and South Islands, reflecting a balance of tradition and boldness. Misty Cove Wines, a family-owned collective founded in 2008, is known for its innovative approach, aiming to combine old-world winemaking values with modern technology, while emphasizing quality, sustainability, and respect for nature. The grapes are sourced from the producer's own vineyards in the Wairau Valley. The 2023 vintage is noted for its intense aromas of fresh citrus fruits, ripe apples, and a hint of tropical fruit, offering lively freshness and a crisp taste experience. This wine is considered a more refined and layered expression of Sauvignon Blanc, with a character described as 'a bit unconventional'.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Tamāhine Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is produced from grapes sourced from Misty Cove's estate vineyards. The harvest is conducted manually to select the finest grapes. Winemaking involves gentle pressing followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, a technique chosen to preserve the wine's freshness and fruitiness. Post-fermentation, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks for several months to build depth and complexity. For certain vintages, oak barrels, including French oak, have been utilized in fermentation and aging to contribute additional layers to the wine's profile.
