ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut Stefan Müller is a rising star in Germany's Saar region, currently managed by the third generation of the Müller family. The 'Tandem' cuvée represents a unique collaboration between winemaker Stefan Müller and sommelier Johanna Lapinski, launched in 2013. This wine is designed to bridge their two distinct palates: Stefan's preference for bone-dry, razor-sharp Saar minerality and Johanna's sommelier-driven desire for balance, juiciness, and immediate accessibility. Sourced from steep, wind-swept slate slopes in the Konzer Tälchen, this estate-level Riesling showcases the incredible potential of cool-climate viticulture and traditional craftsmanship.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for the Tandem Riesling emphasizes low-intervention and traditional methods. Grapes are strictly hand-harvested from 45-year-old vines in the Krettnacher Euchariusberg vineyard. Following a meticulous hand-sorting, the grapes undergo whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation is carried out using 100% wild, indigenous yeasts (spontaneous fermentation) under temperature control, without any chemical fining agents or additions. The wine is then matured on its full lees (Vollhefelager) in a combination of traditional large neutral oak Fuder barrels and stainless steel tanks to build texture and complexity before bottling.
