WINE MAKING PROCESS
Taylor's 10 Year Old Tawny Port is crafted from traditional Portuguese grape varieties grown in the Douro Valley. Grapes are hand-picked and fermented, often using traditional foot-treading in granite lagares, with fermentation halted by fortification with grape spirit. The resulting wine is then aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of 10 years in Vila Nova de Gaia. This extended wood aging develops the wine's tawny color, complex nutty and dried fruit aromas, and smooth, mellow palate. The final wine is a blend of these aged components, meticulously crafted to achieve Taylor's signature house style and consistency.
