ABOUT THIS WINE
Tenuta Buon Tempo Brunello di Montalcino 2018 is a 100% Sangiovese Grosso from the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG appellation in Tuscany. The estate, situated in the southern Montalcino area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, is owned by Janet and Per Landin, who acquired it in 2012 with a commitment to producing high-quality, origin-typical wines. The vineyards are located at altitudes between 300-350 meters with a southeast exposure on galestro soil. The wine is distinguished by its use of grapes from the estate's oldest plot, 'Oliveto P.56', planted in 1994, and a complex aging process involving both traditional Slavonian oak casks and French oak tonneaux.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process at Tenuta Buon Tempo begins with hand-harvested Sangiovese Grosso grapes, typically from late September. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, utilizing indigenous yeasts. Maceration lasts for four weeks, allowing for ample extraction of color and tannins. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for three years: three-quarters in large Slavonian oak casks (20 and 35 hl) and the remainder in used 500-liter French oak tonneaux. The wine then rests for a minimum of six months in bottle before release.
