ABOUT THIS WINE
Yalumba The Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2021 is a red wine from South Australia, produced by Yalumba, Australia's oldest family-owned winery. The wine is a blend of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier. The Y Series is a collection of wines crafted to authentically express the fruit from South Australia's celebrated wine regions, embodying Yalumba's belief that one good wine leads to another. The inclusion of Viognier with Shiraz is a nod to Northern Rh么ne winemaking traditions, intended to add floral notes and a softer mouthfeel to the dark fruit intensity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Yalumba The Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2021 is produced using 100% wild fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures. The grapes are gently pressed as whole clusters. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks. The harvest for this vintage took place in March and April of 2021. Yalumba is known for its commitment to sustainability and operates the Southern Hemisphere's only fully operational cooperage, though this specific wine does not see oak aging.
