ABOUT THIS WINE
Weingut Thörle is a historic estate located in Saulheim, in the heart of Germany's Rheinhessen region, with viticultural roots dating back to 1517. Since taking over the family domain in 2006, brothers Christoph and Johannes Thörle have completely revolutionized the estate. They shifted the focus toward organic farming, low yields, and traditional cellar craftsmanship. Today, the winery is highly regarded for its expressive, terroir-driven wines, which are crafted in their striking, architecturally modern Bauhaus-style vinothek perched on the Norenberg, surrounded by estate vineyards.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for this Riesling are sourced from estate-owned parcels in Saulheim, characterized by active limestone and loess-loam soils. Following a selective hand-harvest to ensure optimal ripeness, the grapes are gently crushed and directly pressed. Fermentation is carried out spontaneously using native wild yeasts over a period of six weeks. To build texture and complexity, 80% of the wine is fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while 20% is vinified in neutral, used traditional German oak barrels. The wine is matured on its full lees for six months before natural clarification and bottling.
