ABOUT THIS WINE
Niepoort Tiara Douro 2020 is a white wine from Portugal's Douro region, produced by Niepoort Vinhos. The wine is a blend of indigenous white grape varieties, primarily Códega do Larinho, Rabigato, Donzelinho, and Cercial. It originates from high-altitude vineyards, over 600 meters, planted with old vines on schist soils. Niepoort Vinhos is a historic, family-owned winery founded in 1842, known for its commitment to producing wines that express terroir with elegance and freshness. Tiara is distinguished by its focus on freshness, intensity, and aging potential, stemming from its old, high-altitude vineyard sources and a meticulous, slow winemaking process.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Niepoort Tiara Douro 2020 is produced using grapes from high-altitude vineyards. Fermentation is initiated with natural yeasts in large wooden vats and proceeds slowly at low temperatures for up to a year, with malolactic fermentation also employed. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel vats with lees contact, followed by maturation in French oak barrels or foudres for up to 12 months. Farming practices are guided by organic and biodynamic principles.
