ABOUT THIS WINE
Tierras de Cair Ribera del Duero 2014 is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain, made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes. The fruit is sourced from vineyards with vines averaging over 45 years old, with some parcels exceeding 70 years. These vineyards are located at elevations between 850 and 950 meters, with soils comprising chalky-clay, sandy, and stony elements. Dominio de Cair is the Ribera del Duero venture of Juan Luis Cañas, a winemaker with a background in Rioja. The winery, founded in 2008, emphasizes quality and environmental stewardship. The 2014 vintage in Ribera del Duero was characterized by a mild winter and spring, followed by a mild summer with a warm late August, leading to an 'Excellent' rating from the Regulatory Council for producers who managed yields effectively.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The production of Tierras de Cair Ribera del Duero begins with hand-harvested Tempranillo grapes, collected in small crates. A meticulous double selection process is employed, first for grape clusters and then for individual berries, to ensure optimal fruit quality. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in French oak vats. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 18 months of bottle aging before release.
