ABOUT THIS WINE
Triaca Ca l'Apotecari is a red wine from the DOQ Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain, produced by Ca l'Apotecari de Porrera. The wine is a personal project by Santi Puig, named in homage to his great-uncle Jaume, who was the last apothecary in Porrera. The wine is sourced from the 'Los Perers' vineyard, planted in 2002, situated at an altitude of approximately 450-500 meters on the region's characteristic slate soil known as Llicorella. The project aims to produce limited quantities of high-quality wine with minimal intervention, reflecting the purity of the Priorat terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Triaca Ca l'Apotecari begins with manual harvesting and selection of grapes. The grapes undergo manual destemming with minimal damage, followed by a two-day cold maceration. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at 22ºC, with an additional 29 days of maceration. The wine is then aged for 18 months in used French Allier oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation also taking place in French oak. A further 18 months of aging precedes bottling, which is done without filtration. The bottles are stored in the old apothecary's house until ready for release.
