ABOUT THIS WINE
The Trousseau Gris Fanucchi-Wood Road 2024 is a distinctive white wine from Jolie-Laide, produced in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley. It is made from 100% Trousseau Gris grapes, believed to be from the sole planting of this varietal in the United States, with vines dating back to 1981. The vineyard is dry-farmed and practices organic viticulture. Jolie-Laide, founded by Scott and Jenny Schultz, focuses on uncommon grape varieties and employs a low-intervention winemaking style. The 2024 vintage experienced a significantly reduced yield, making it a particularly rare release. The wine's artwork is by Sandra Fontenas.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Trousseau Gris grapes for this wine are foot-crushed and undergo a three-day whole cluster cold soak on the skins, which imparts subtle texture, aromatics, and a rose gold hue. Fermentation is carried out using native yeasts in a combination of neutral puncheons and stainless steel. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in neutral puncheons and barriques. The grapes are harvested early to maintain natural acidity. The vineyard is dry-farmed and managed using organic viticulture practices.
