ABOUT THIS WINE
Txomín Etxaniz Rosado is a rosé wine produced by Txomín Etxaniz in the Getariako Txakolina Denominación de Origen (D.O.) in Spain's Basque Country. The producer, the Txueka-Etxaniz family, has a winemaking legacy dating back to 1649 and was pivotal in the creation of the D.O. in 1989. The vineyards are situated on steep, coastal hillsides overlooking the Cantabrian Sea, benefiting from the Atlantic climate. This rosé is known for its distinctive slight natural effervescence and high acidity, a hallmark of Txakoli wines. It is typically made from a blend of Hondarrabi Beltza and Hondarrabi Zuri grapes, though some sources indicate 100% Hondarrabi Beltza. The wine is estate-bottled and reflects the unique terroir of Getaria.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Txomín Etxaniz Rosado is produced using a short maceration period of 12 hours before pressing. The grapes are then fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures to preserve freshness. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a 6-month aging period in stainless steel tanks on its lees, with battonage (stirring of the lees) to develop texture and character. The grapes are hand-harvested in early October and transported in small boxes to ensure quality. The wine is estate-bottled.
