ABOUT THIS WINE
Raúl Pérez Ultreia La Cova de la Raposa 2022 is a 100% Mencía red wine from the Bierzo appellation in Castilla y León, Spain. The grapes are cultivated on a very old, small, south-facing plot named 'La Cova de la Raposa' in Valtuille de Abajo, characterized by sandy, clay-rich soils at an elevation of 500-550 meters. The vineyard was planted in the late 19th century. Bodegas Y Vinedos Raúl Pérez is led by Raúl Pérez, a winemaker known for his dedication to indigenous grape varieties, old vines, and a minimalist winemaking philosophy focused on expressing vineyard terroir. The wine is produced in very limited quantities, typically between 500 and 1,500 bottles per year.
