ABOUT THIS WINE
Umathum Rosa is a distinguished rosé from Weingut Umathum GmbH, a renowned Austrian producer primarily celebrated for its authentic red wines. Hailing from Burgenland, specifically from vineyards in Frauenkirchen and Jois, this 2023 vintage showcases the winery's commitment to biodynamic farming and minimal intervention. Umathum is a solar-powered estate, blending traditional craft with modern sustainable philosophy. The Rosa is crafted using the saignée method, a technique that involves 'bleeding off' juice from red grape fermentations, resulting in an elegant fuchsia hue and concentrated fruit character. While perfect for immediate enjoyment, its structure and depth also allow for beautiful aging, making it a versatile wine beyond just summer sipping.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Umathum Rosa is produced from mature vines, some up to 45 years old, grown on gravel and schist soils in Burgenland. The grapes, a blend of Blaufränkisch, Saint Laurent, and Zweigelt, are meticulously hand-harvested following biodynamic viticultural practices. In the cellar, the wine is made using the saignée method, where the juice is drawn off after a short period of skin contact to achieve its vibrant color and flavor intensity. Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine's freshness and purity of fruit.
