ABOUT THIS WINE
Bodegas Valduero, established in 1984, is one of the pioneer estates of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Located in the high-altitude village of Gumiel del Mercado, the winery is celebrated for its traditional, gravity-led winemaking and patient aging in deep underground caves. 'Una Cepa' (meaning 'One Vine') was conceived by winemaker Yolanda García Viadero to showcase the ultimate potential of low-yielding, old bush-trained Tempranillo vines. The concept is simple yet extreme: harvesting only enough grapes from each low-yielding vine to produce a single, highly concentrated bottle of wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested from 50-year-old bush vines at an altitude of 840 to 890 meters. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures between 23°C and 28°C for nine days, followed by a ten-day post-fermentation maceration. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels of French and American origin, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging in the winery's underground cellars before commercial release.
