ABOUT THIS WINE
The Mandrarossa Urra di Mare Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Sicilia DOC appellation, specifically the Menfi region of Sicily. Produced by Cantine Settesoli, this wine is notable for its connection to the sea, with its name translating to 'sea spray.' The vineyards are situated in an area characterized by clay-limestone soils and a significant maritime influence, which contributes to the wine's distinctive minerality and salinity. Mandrarossa is a premium brand from Cantine Settesoli, a large cooperative with a long history in Sicily, focused on expressing the unique terroirs of the island.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Mandrarossa Urra di Mare Sauvignon Blanc begins with hand-harvested grapes in early to mid-August. After crushing and destemming, the must undergoes cryomaceration at 5-8°C for four to six hours to extract aromatic compounds. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 16-18°C for 15-20 days. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for four months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. This approach emphasizes preserving the freshness and varietal character of the Sauvignon Blanc.
